Balboa island: burgundy + mustard

Holasss! Espero que hayan comenzado a disfrutar su finde. El sábado pasado fuimos con Roddy a Balboa Island.  En realidad no es una isla, sino mas bien una península y me hace acordar mucho a La Punta en Lima.  Las casas son de cuento y las calles son estrechas y hay cafecitos, bares y restaurantes. Mucha gente montando bici, caminando y disfrutando.  Es super lindo.  Solo que como verán en algunas fotos, aunque hacía un sol lindísimo... estaba con vientos huracanados jejeje

Sobre el outfit para ese día.  Dos de los colores de tendencia en este otoño son el mostaza y el guinda.  Aunque aaaamo ambos colores y me parece muuuy lindos juntos, cada vez que me probé algo mostaza (como una blusa) sentía que no iba con mi tono de piel, como que no me gustaba como me quedaba. Y por otro lado, igual me pasó con el famoso Burgundy (borgoña).  Así que para poder usarlos, porque igual me encanta, decidí usarnos como complemento de un outfit. En este caso, el pañuelo mostaza con detalles de florecitas y las panties burgundy.  Y como ya con eso había bastante color, usé cartera, casaca y top cremas con short de jean oscuro para bajarle la intensidad.  Espero que les guste.  Aquí les muestro algunas fotos. Si vienen al sur de California, es un lugar lindo para hacer una parada.

Hello! I hope you are already enjoying your weekend.  Last saturday Roddy and I went to Balboa Island.  It really isn't an island but a peninsula and reminds me of a place in Lima that is called "La Punta", a peninsula as well.  There are cute houses, the streets are very narrow and there are restaurant, bars and coffee shops all over. It's a really nice place to walk around and visit. If you every visit South California, it would be a nice place to stop for some hours.  

Now, about the outfit.  As you may know, this season one of the trendy colors are burgundy and mustard.  I looove both colors and I looove them together and separate, but everytime I tried a mustard blouse or shirts I just didn't like how it looked on me, I felt like it looked too similar to my skin.  Same with the burgundy, I really didn't like in blouses, it kinda darken me too much.  But I really wanted to use them, so I thought it would be a good idea to use them as complements in an outfit.  So in this outfit you'll see the mustard in the beautiful scarf with little flower details and the burgundy stockings. All this complementing a very simple outfit: cream top with cream jacket and dark denim shorts.  I hope you like it.   Here some pics of that day.

Para hacer una combinación como esta podrían usar un pañuelo borgoña y panties mostaza.  Pero si les parece que es demasiado color para sus gustos, pueden cambiar las panties por unas negras y asunto resuelto.  / You could also invert the combination using mustard stockings and burgundy scarf.  But if you in general do not like too much colors on an outfit, you could easily replace the stockings for black ones and it would look good as well.

Por cierto, la vista del muelle es linda. / Btw, the view from the pier is so beautiful.
