La Vie Colorée: The pastel floral skirt [La falda pastel floral]

Este look, tiene sus meses de meses en el tintero. Cuando fui de visita a Lima en verano, lo usé exactamente igual, pero con sandalias chatas y sin blazer, para disfrutar de una noche con mi mami en Punta Sal, pero quería probarlo más elegante y este es el resultado.

Es increíble lo diferente que puede ser un look, cambiando solo 2 elementos (y a veces solo cambiando los zapatos). Tal como está aquí es ideal para un brunch o algún evento especial durante el día (almuerzo de cumpleaños, shower, matrimonio civil, nómbrenlo ustedes). Y si quisieran estar más cómodas, pero preservando un poco la formalidad, pueden cambiar los tacos por unas balerinas o sandalias chatas no tan casuales. En fín, hay un mar de posibilidades ;)

Esta falda (aunque en la primera foto parece medio short jeje) es muy especial para mí porque fue mi segundo proyecto de costura, cuando estuve en clases el año pasado. Pueden leer más sobre eso aquí. Una de las tendencias fuertes en ese momento era el pastel floral y quería aprovechar mi segunda clase para hacer algo que pudiera ponerme. Y este fue el resultado. Aunque la tela no es la ideal (porque se arruga con facilidad) le tengo mucho cariño. Y espero ponérmela mucho este verano.

Puntos importantes a tomar en cuenta sobre las faldas en A a la cintura: son ideales para alargar la figura y acentuar la cintura. Es un corte muy alagador si no tienes muchas curvas.

I have had this look exactly as you see it on my mind for a while. I wore this exact same without the blazer and with flat sandals for a special night with my mom in our latest vacations and it's so crazy how much a look can change just by changing two elements.

If you want to be more comfy, you can always change the heels for a nice pair of chic ballet flats. As it is here it would be ideal for a day time event like a birthday party, brunch, shower, you name it!

This skirt (although it seems like a short in the first picture) is very special because I made it in my second sewing class last year. At that moment, pastel floral was a big trend and I wanted to make something I could wear. Even though the fabric is not the ideal (as it wrinkles easily) I really love it and hope to use it a lot in the summer.

Good things about A line high-waist skirts: they elongate the body and accentuate the waist. Very flattering.
